The CSKA was founded in 1989 on the advice of Sensei Andrew Sherry KUGB. At that Time Sensei Hanratty was invited to an inaugural meeting of the World Shotokan Karate Association held in Ferrara Italy. CSKA was accepted as the representative body for Canadian Shotokan. In 1991 CSKA hosted the first World Shotokan championships in Calgary Alberta. CSKA has attended every WSKA event since that time and proven themselves very capable international competitors.
The support of our members, instructors and technical body has made CSKA one of the strongest and most respected Karate membership organizations in Canada. Members and instructors include National and international champions in Kumite and Kata.
Our aim is to provide the highest level of Shotokan Instruction to the serious student of Karate.
We are governed by our technical committee chaired by head instructor;
